Canoe, kayak, paddleboat, pontoon boat, and motor boat rentals Pets Welcome Michigamme Shores Campground offers a variety of wooded and lakefront sites for your RV, camper, or tent. Our tent sites are located throughout the campground and include a picnic table and a fire pit. There are modern restrooms and hot showers with laundry facilities available.
The town of Michigamme is just a few miles from the campground for shopping and dining. Camping Cabins Our camping cabins have a bunk bed and a twin bed inside with a nice swing on the porch. Each cabin has a picnic table and a fire pit by the cabin. The Camp Store is stocked with groceries, camping supplies, snacks, licenses, bait, tackle, firewood, ice, and LP gas.
Great recreation at Michigamme Shores Campground. We have tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts or horseshoe pits with rental equipment available. Our sandy beach is great for swimming and relaxing or rent one of our pontoon boats, canoes, kayaks, or paddle boats and have fun on Lake Michigamme, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Upper Peninsula. Great fishing for bass, walleye, pike, perch, and panfish. If you bring your own boat, there is a boat launch nearby and we offer docking facilities.
The campground is conveniently located near hiking and biking trails and is a great location for birding and wildlife watching.

Your kids are sure to have fun bike riding, boogie boarding, kite flying or at the arcade. If you count a dog as one of your family members, know that we are a pet friendly park, complete with dog walks, plus pet food and toys in our store.
Close to Beach. stars if I could rate it that. This state park has access to beaches and has one loop with full hook ups. I didn’t stay here but i visited friend that we’re staying here while I was up the road at San Mateo Campground.
It brings me back to a time when there were beach parties and surfers were able to roam the shorelines without concern. This small section of seashore is home to one of the best undeveloped beaches in the area, as well as the former location of Fort McRee, a Confederate fort that guarded the Pensacola Bay only a single battery remains of this Fort. It also happens to be one of the only places where camping on the beach is still allowed. To reach the camping location, however, is not an easy task.
Prior to Tropical Storm Lee, a two lane road passed between the two bodies of water for approximately 2 miles. Unfortunately, the tropical storm we had a few weeks ago buried the road in sand, forcing its closure. So instead of hiking 0. Primitive Camping on the beach is not allowed for the first 2. After that distance, camping is allowed on the beach anywhere east of this signpost.
Since the road was closed, hiking to the campsite began at the large parking area just past the entrance to the National Seashore. These will be the last restrooms you will see. From here, hikers hike along the wide, sandy beach with all their camping gear. There are hard surfaces that can be found along the hike, but they are not necessarily in a straight line or consistent.
Myrtle Beach KOA
We stayed over Labor Day weekend. The row of RV spaces that face the bay are spacious with a great view. Yes it was Labor Day weekend.
The region boasts more than private and public campgrounds for you to choose among, many with full camping amenities and extras such as play areas, marinas and fully stocked stores. Search the full list below or hone in on one area for your outdoor adventure.
It was built on a slope but there was no attempt to tier or level the sites so most if not all have some type of slope requiring some sort of blocking to get level. All of the sites are back-ins. The parking pads are broken concrete in poor condition. Distance and grassy areas establish privacy between the sites. Most all of the sites are 30 AMP. Only a handful have 50 AMP service. Those are difficult to find and use as the park doesn’t assign them you have to ask for them.
The sewer connections were generally at the ground level so it was easy to establish a downhill flow. The park offers extended stay rates. From about November to mid March there was no lawn care so the grass got very high making the sites difficult to use. There were quite a few trees scattered throughout the park and around the perimeter so satellite reception would be dependent upon your site.
Only 5 Broadcast channels received with roof mounted antenna which included only 1 of 4 major networks.
